You'll soon find out that baby ferrets like to discover things using their teeth! It might seem that your ferret goes through a period where all it wants to do is bite things, including you!
What this really means is that your ferret is hungry - you don't want to feed it so much that it gets fat but you if it gets very bitey you will want to increase its portion sizes a bit more or more frequently.
I've had kits that have needed feeding 5 times a day in the past. Not huge dinners but a generous amount of soaked kibble (easier for them to chew) or raw meat.
As they learn to play and discover what is acceptable and what isn't they will probably try to push their luck a bit and bite you for the sake of it. Its never a good idea to punish your ferret by hitting it, its just too cruel but it is quite acceptable to hiss loudly at it so it associates you as a predator or failing this get a small, dark, boring, punishment box that you lock your ferret in for a few minutes straight after - it will know its being punished and make the connection with having bitten you.
If you get a rescue ferret and find that it bites you then its probably because its previous owner was cruel to it and its still frightened. Feeding it treats from your fingers, playing gently with it and anything else you can think of to help regain its trust should work. Hitting it or frightening it more will only exasperate the problem.
